TENANCY

A tenancy is the exclusive occupation of a property by a lessee for a fixed period and who pays rent for that right. A tenancy can be a:

• tenancy at sufferance
• tenancy at will
• periodic lease
• tenancy for a fixed term (lease for years

The right to occupy land or buildings as provided by the terms of a lease or other agreement.
