HOUSEOWNERS
AND HOUSEHOLDERS (H & H) POLICY
The
H & H policy
is sometimes misleadingly called a comprehensive
policy
but although having
more extensive cover than the basic fire
policy it is far
from complete cover. The policy generally covers the normal risks
likely to be encountered by the typical houseowner, or householder
including:
- building
and contents against a number of contingencies
- indemnity
for the full value of the private dwelling, domestic outbuildings (as
described), and the contents (if insured).
- basic
fire cover, burglary, housebreaking, certain theft, malicious
damage, certain water damage, and certain accidental breakage.
- riot and
civil commotion
- damage
by aircraft, road vehicles, storm, tempest
- new
policies may also include spoilage on frozen food, blown over
fences, domestic workers compensation.
