CONTENTS POLICY
A Home Contents
Insurance Policy is a contract of insurance between you and the
insurance company. In return for payment of your premium the company
provides cover as set out in the contract. A typical home contents
contract consists two documents:
- the Policy
- your current
Certificate of Insurance this is the latest Certificate the
company has given you.
The company will
give you a current Certificate of insurance:
- after you have
paid your premium or first monthly instalment and the company agrees to
cover you, or
- if any of the
terms and conditions that apply to your Policy are changed.
Check
your current Certificate of Insurance because it shows the details
specific to your contract. Read the two documents together because
they set out the terms and conditions of your home contents
insurance.
