VALUER'S JOB PROFILE

The valuer in the typical capitalistic economy has 2 important tasks:

• the determination of the market value of either an annual amount (rent) or lump sum.
• to act as adviser to the real estate investor.

Both tasks are found in the government and private sectors. For example, a statutory valuation for property tax purposes is only a variation of the market value concept used in the private sector.
