TITLE
SEARCH – COMPUTER
Below
is an example of a computer search of title:
A
title search can be made quickly at the Land Titles Office (LTO). A
title search reveals the precise details of the property the names of
the owners the use to which the property may be put and whether there
are any encumbrances. restrictive covenants or caveats on the title.
A
title search will also show whether any easements for electricity or
hydraulic services are registered. An easement is the right of one
landowner over the use of the land of another. The use could be for
electricity lines or water drainage or sewerage pipes. To avoid any
interference, there are restrictions on building on the site of an
easement.
