OCCUPATIONAL
NOISE REGULATIONS AND CODE OF PRACTICE
The
regulations have the following objectives:
-
persons at work are not exposed to noise in excess of the
exposure standard.
-
noise at work in excess of the Exposure Standard is to be
minimised.
The
regulations impose responsibilities and duties on employers,
employees, manufacturers, suppliers and installers. An Occupational
Noise Code of Practice is also available (from the Australian
Government Bookshop) to provide practical guidance on how to
implement the noise regulations.
