LEASE IN PERPETUITY


A lease in perpetuity cannot be granted between private parties. It can only be granted by the government (Crown). The lease term is "forever" and not 99 years which is commonly believed.

The most common lease in perpetuity in NSW is the Conditional Lease, a rural Crown lease.
