GROSS BUILDING AREA (GBA)

The external, dimensions of the building and is the area used to estimate the cost to build. It is also used in estimating the building design efficiency index of NLA:GLA for example, a new building should be more than 80% (0.80:1.00). Note, this is a different measurement from gross floor area above.
