An extension to the reinstatement policy. The extension enables the replacement of the insured building upon its destruction subject to any local government ordinance, or local authority regulation, and any act of parliament (eg the BCA). Today, most replacement policies are extra cost reinstatement. The importance of the extension is that the increased costs brought about such building controls are covered. This would apply particularly to old buildings.
