protection and biodiversity conservation act 1999 (cth)
This
Act came into operation of the 16 July 2000. The Act establishes an
environmental assessment and approval system that is separate and
distinct from state & territory system (although there is
provision for the possible integration with state/territory system).
It does not affect the validity or conduct of state/territory
environmental and development assessments and approvals but runs
parallel to those systems.
