modern form of decoration that
followed art nouveau. Whereas art nouveau was base on swirls and
natural (botanic) shapes art deco was geometical based on straight
lines, triangles and circles. It was the dominant decoration in the
late 1930s through to the modern period in the 1950s. Stained glass
windows were simpler in colour and and based on simple geometrical
shapes compared with the more ornate Federation windows.
